Description
This 5-Ingredient Crack Green Beans recipe transforms simple canned green beans into a luscious, caramelized side dish. Butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and bacon come together to create a sweet, smoky glaze that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- ¾ cup butter, melted
- 5 cans cut green beans, drained
- 1½ teaspoons minced garlic (or garlic powder)
- 8 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ⅔ cup light brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic until smooth.
- Assemble the dish: Spread the drained green beans evenly in the baking dish. Pour the glaze over the top, then sprinkle the chopped bacon evenly. Toss gently to coat everything in the sauce.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
- Serve: Stir gently before serving to evenly distribute the glaze and bacon bits. Serve warm and watch them disappear!
Notes
Active time: 10 minutes; Passive time: 20 minutes.
For a crispier bacon texture, add half of the bacon before baking and sprinkle the rest on top right before serving.
You can prepare the glaze ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days — just reheat before pouring it over the beans.
