Description
Air Fryer Beef Jerky starts with simple, flavorful ingredients that work together for an unforgettable umami-rich snack. Here’s what makes each component essential:
Ingredients
– 1 lb beef sirloin tip steak (thinly sliced)
– ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
– 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– 3 tbsp brown sugar
– ½ tsp garlic powder
– ½ tsp onion powder
– ¼ tsp black pepper
– ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. Slice the beef into thin strips, about ¼ inch thick, cutting against the grain for a tender texture.
2. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
3. Add the beef strips to the marinade and coat well. Cover and refrigerate overnight or for at least 6 hours.
4. Preheat your air fryer to 180°F (82°C).
5. Arrange marinated beef strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap.
6. Air fry for 2–3 hours, flipping the strips halfway through. Jerky is ready when it’s dry but still slightly pliable.
7. Let cool completely on a wire rack before storing in an airtight container.
Notes
Pro Tip: Partially freeze the steak for 30 minutes before slicing. This makes it much easier to cut thin, even strips—a key factor for consistent drying in your air fryer.
