- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (32 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
- 32 ounces cottage cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- salt to taste
- ground black pepper to taste
- 9 lasagna noodles
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook and stir ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in spaghetti sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine cottage cheese, 2 cups mozzarella cheese, eggs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange 3 lasagna noodles over meat sauce. Spread with one-third of the cheese mixture. Repeat layers twice. Top with remaining meat sauce and 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Add ½ cup water to edges of the dish. Cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
