Description

These soft and chewy Christmas cookies are perfect for holiday gatherings. With a tender texture and classic vanilla flavor, they are the ideal canvas for festive decorations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream together sugar and margarine until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  • Gradually stir in the flour mixture until fully combined. Shape the dough into small balls and place on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool before decorating.

Notes

For an extra soft texture, slightly underbake the cookies and cool on the baking sheet. Store in an airtight container to maintain softness.
