Brown Sugar Chicken – Sweet and Savory Baked Chicken Delight

  • Author: Sarah White

Description

This Brown Sugar Chicken features tender chicken breasts coated in a deliciously sticky glaze made from brown sugar, Italian herbs, and paprika. It’s a quick, crowd-pleasing dinner that’s both elegant and easy, perfect for weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 ounces (4 pieces, 5 oz each) boneless skinless chicken breasts, thawed
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 0.7-ounce packet dry Italian dressing mix
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or nonstick spray.
  2. Prepare the seasoning mix: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, Italian dressing mix, and sweet paprika. Stir until well blended.
  3. Season the chicken: Brush each chicken breast lightly with olive oil, then rub the brown sugar mixture generously over each piece, coating both sides.
  4. Bake: Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the glaze is bubbly and caramelized.
  5. Rest and serve: Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Spoon any extra glaze from the pan over the top for added flavor.

Notes

Active time: 5 minutes. Passive time: 25 minutes. For extra caramelization, broil for the final 2 minutes of baking. You can also make this in an air fryer at 375°F for about 14–16 minutes, flipping halfway through.
