- 3 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and finely diced
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 3 tablespoons salted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- 1 cup whipped cream or cream cheese topping
- 1/2 cup crushed graham crackers or cookies (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Peel, core, and finely dice the apples. Place them in a medium saucepan.
- Add butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until apples are tender and syrupy, about 8–10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly before assembling.
- Spoon a layer of apple mixture into serving cups, drizzle with caramel sauce, and add a layer of whipped cream or topping.
- Repeat layers if desired and finish with caramel drizzle and crushed graham crackers. Serve warm or chilled.
Notes
These dessert cups can be prepared a few hours ahead and kept chilled. For extra flavor, sprinkle chopped nuts or sea salt on top. Best enjoyed the same day but apple mixture can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
