Description
Try this easy Caramel Apple Grape recipe for a sweet, crunchy treat that’s perfect for parties or autumn snacking.
Ingredients
- ▢ 25 seedless green grapes (or more, depending on how many you want to make)
- ▢ 2.22 oz package of Werther’s Original Soft Caramel Chews
- ▢ 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream
- ▢ ½ cup crushed nuts (peanuts and/or cashews work well)
- ▢ Toothpicks (for dipping and serving)
Instructions
- Wash and dry the grapes thoroughly.
Moisture will prevent the caramel from sticking properly, so pat them dry with a paper towel. - Insert a toothpick into each grape.
This makes them easy to dip and serve. - Crush your nuts and set aside in a shallow bowl.
You can pulse them in a food processor or place them in a ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin. - Melt the caramel.
Unwrap the soft caramel chews and place them in a microwave-safe bowl with 1 tablespoon of heavy whipping cream. Microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted (about 45 seconds to 1 minute total). - Dip each grape into the caramel.
Swirl to coat about ¾ of the grape. Let excess drip off. - Immediately roll the caramel-dipped grape into the crushed nuts.
Press lightly to ensure the coating sticks. - Place the finished grapes on a parchment-lined tray.
Let them set for 15–20 minutes at room temperature or pop them in the fridge to firm up faster.
Notes
Use firm, cold grapes for better caramel adhesion.
Don’t overheat the caramel — it’ll harden too quickly and become difficult to work with.
If you’re allergic to nuts or making a nut-free batch, try crushed graham crackers or cookie crumbs instead.
