Description
A hearty, family-friendly casserole that combines juicy ground beef, creamy sauce, melted cheese, and crispy fries in every bite. Perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
-
2 lbs ground beef
-
1 (28 oz) bag frozen shoestring fries
-
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
-
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
-
Optional garnishes: diced pickles, ketchup, burger sauce
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 7–9 minutes. Drain excess grease.
-
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until the beef is evenly coated.
-
Spread the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the top.
-
Evenly layer the frozen shoestring fries over the cheese.
-
Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until the fries are crispy and golden.
-
Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake for 5 more minutes until melted.
-
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Add optional garnishes if desired.
Notes
For a flavor boost, add sautéed onions or bell peppers to the beef mixture. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat best in the oven. This dish pairs well with a fresh side salad or coleslaw.
