Description

A hearty, family-friendly casserole that combines juicy ground beef, creamy sauce, melted cheese, and crispy fries in every bite. Perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef

  • 1 (28 oz) bag frozen shoestring fries

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • Optional garnishes: diced pickles, ketchup, burger sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 7–9 minutes. Drain excess grease.

  3. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until the beef is evenly coated.

  4. Spread the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the top.

  5. Evenly layer the frozen shoestring fries over the cheese.

  6. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until the fries are crispy and golden.

  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake for 5 more minutes until melted.

  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Add optional garnishes if desired.

Notes

For a flavor boost, add sautéed onions or bell peppers to the beef mixture. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat best in the oven. This dish pairs well with a fresh side salad or coleslaw.
