Cheeseburger Texas Toast

  • Author: Sarah White
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A hearty twist on classic cheeseburgers, this recipe layers seasoned ground beef and melty cheese over crispy garlic Texas toast. Perfect for quick dinners or game-day snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped yellow onions
  • 1 tablespoon hamburger seasoning
  • 1 box frozen garlic Texas Toast (8 slices)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) or as directed on the Texas toast package. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onions until the meat is browned and the onions are soft, about 7–9 minutes. Drain excess grease and stir in the hamburger seasoning.
  3. Arrange the frozen Texas toast slices on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to partially toast.
  4. Remove from the oven, spoon the beef mixture evenly over each slice, and top generously with shredded cheese.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve hot.

Notes

For added flavor, top with pickles, jalapeños, or a drizzle of ketchup and mustard. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
