- 1 onion, diced
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 (10.75 oz) can tomato soup
- 1 (15 oz) can green beans, drained
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 4 cups prepared mashed potatoes
- 1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a medium casserole dish. - Cook the Beef
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed. - Add Vegetables
Add diced onion, shredded carrot, and chopped celery to the skillet. Cook for 5–7 minutes until vegetables soften. - Season and Simmer
Stir in tomato soup, green beans, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until well combined and heated through. - Assemble the Pie
Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish. - Top with Mashed Potatoes
Gently spread mashed potatoes over the beef layer, smoothing the surface with a spatula. - Add Cheese
Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese evenly over the mashed potatoes. - Bake
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and lightly golden. - Rest and Serve
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving for cleaner slices.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.
