- 8 hot dogs, cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 2 (15-ounce) cans of chili (with or without beans, depending on preference)
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for a spicy kick)
- 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 (28-ounce) bag of frozen tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced hot dogs, chili, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, and crushed red pepper flakes.
- Spread the mixture evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For an extra crispy topping, broil the casserole for the last 2-3 minutes.
