Description

This Christmas Crack combines buttery toffee, crisp saltines, and melted chocolate for a festive holiday treat everyone loves. A sweet, salty, and crunchy favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 35 saltine crackers (about 1 sleeve, adjust as needed for your pan)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: chopped nuts, crushed candy canes, or sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a jelly roll pan with foil or parchment and arrange the saltines in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until it comes to a rolling boil. Let boil for 3 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  3. Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers, spreading quickly to cover. Bake for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  4. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over hot toffee. Let sit for 1–2 minutes, then spread into a smooth layer.
  5. Add optional toppings while chocolate is soft. Cool completely, then refrigerate until firm. Break into pieces and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months. Perfect for gifting in holiday tins or bags.
