Description
Soft, spiced bread loaded with tender apples and a sweet cinnamon sugar topping, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar for topping
- Optional glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan, optionally lining with parchment.
- Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Toss diced apples with sugar and cinnamon, then fold into the batter.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle additional cinnamon sugar on top.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
- Optional: drizzle with powdered sugar glaze once slightly cooled.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Toast slices for a warm, crisp exterior, or serve with yogurt or coffee.
