Description
Sweet cranberry-glazed spiral ham with spices for an easy, tender, holiday-worthy centerpiece.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 pound spiral-cut ham
- 16 ounces jellied cranberry sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
Instructions
- Prepare the oven.
Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan or baking dish. - Prepare the glaze.
In a medium saucepan, combine cranberry sauce, brown sugar, orange juice, cloves, cinnamon, and allspice. Heat over medium heat, whisking until smooth. - Warm the ham.
Cover the ham loosely with foil and bake for 45 minutes to warm it through. - Apply the glaze.
Remove foil and brush a generous layer of glaze over the ham. Allow glaze to drip between spiral slices for full flavor. - Finish baking.
Continue baking uncovered for 20–30 minutes, basting with more glaze every 10 minutes until glossy and caramelized. - Rest before slicing.
Let the ham rest for 10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. - Serve.
Slice along the natural spiral cuts and serve warm with extra glaze, if desired.
Notes
For deeper flavor, reserve a small amount of glaze to brush on just before serving.
If glaze thickens too much, add 1–2 tablespoons extra orange juice.
A roasting rack helps heat circulate evenly, but it’s optional.
