Description
A hearty, creamy casserole made with tender cabbage, savory ground beef, and melted cheese. Perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup milk or cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat.
- Stir in onion and garlic, cooking for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Add chopped cabbage and cook until slightly tender, about 5–7 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk milk with paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over beef and cabbage mixture, stirring to combine.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared casserole dish. Top evenly with shredded cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until cheese is melted and golden. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra creaminess, mix in a spoonful of sour cream before baking. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for 3 months.
