Description

A hearty, creamy casserole made with tender cabbage, savory ground beef, and melted cheese. Perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup milk or cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.

  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat.

  3. Stir in onion and garlic, cooking for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.

  4. Add chopped cabbage and cook until slightly tender, about 5–7 minutes.

  5. In a bowl, whisk milk with paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over beef and cabbage mixture, stirring to combine.

  6. Transfer mixture to the prepared casserole dish. Top evenly with shredded cheese.

  7. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until cheese is melted and golden. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra creaminess, mix in a spoonful of sour cream before baking. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for 3 months.
