Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 6 c. whole milk
  • 2 c. heavy cream
  • 2 (4-oz.) semisweet chocolate bars, chopped
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. instant espresso or coffee
  • 15 jumbo marshmallows, plus more for garnish
  • 8 oz. Irish cream liqueur (optional)
  • Shaved chocolate, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a slow cooker, whisk together sugar and cocoa powder.
  • Add whole milk, heavy cream, chopped chocolate, and vanilla extract. Stir well.
  • Set the slow cooker on low heat and cook for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • After 2 hours, add instant espresso and mix.
  • Stir in Irish cream liqueur if desired.
  • Serve warm with jumbo marshmallows and shaved chocolate on top.

Notes

Optional Irish cream adds a festive touch, but the drink is equally delicious without it.
