Description
Tender Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken in a rich sauce with garlic, Parmesan, and fresh parsley. Easy, elegant dinner everyone will love.
Ingredients
-
2 chicken breasts, cut in half lengthwise
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
1 tablespoon flour
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/2 cup chicken broth or dry white wine
-
1 cup heavy or whipping cream
-
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
-
Prepare the Chicken
Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. -
Sear the Chicken
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside. -
Make the Sauce Base
Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, whisk in the flour to create a roux. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, to remove the raw flour taste. -
Add Garlic and Liquids
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Slowly whisk in chicken broth (or white wine), scraping the browned bits off the pan. Allow the sauce to simmer and thicken. -
Add Cream and Parmesan
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth. -
Return Chicken to Pan
Nestle the seared chicken breasts back into the sauce. Spoon sauce over the chicken and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through. -
Finish with Fresh Parsley
Sprinkle chopped parsley on top before serving.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best melt and flavor.
If the sauce is too thick, thin it with a splash of chicken broth or cream.
Let the chicken rest a few minutes after cooking for juicier results.
