Description
Golden, crunchy on the outside and gooey cheesy inside, these corn sticks make the perfect snack or appetizer for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup corn kernels (fresh, canned, or thawed frozen)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheddar)
- 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix corn kernels, mozzarella, cream cheese, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Shape the mixture into small sticks or logs about 3 inches long. Chill for 20–30 minutes to firm up.
- Roll each stick in flour, dip in beaten egg, and coat with breadcrumbs for a crispy finish.
- Heat oil in a pan to medium-high. Fry sticks in batches until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh, but you can freeze shaped, uncooked sticks for up to 2 months. Bake or air-fry instead of frying for a lighter version.
