Ingredients
 • 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, room temperature
• 2/3 cup (80 g) powdered sugar
• 1 large egg, room temperature
• 1 ½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Â
- Beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.Â
- Add the egg and mix until fully combined.Â
- Gradually mix in the flour until a smooth dough forms.Â
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip and pipe swirls or rings onto the sheet.Â
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.Â
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Freeze baked cookies for up to 3 months. For variety, dip in chocolate or sprinkle with sugar.
