Description

A rich, fudgy brownie infused with pumpkin and warm spices, perfect for the Thanksgiving table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 oz semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips for topping (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter and chopped chocolate over low heat. Stir until smooth.
  • Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs. Add the cooled chocolate mixture, followed by the pumpkin puree and vegetable oil.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice.
  • Fold in chocolate chips if desired. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
