- 1/2 cup butter
- 6 oz semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and chopped chocolate over low heat. Stir until smooth.
- Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs. Add the cooled chocolate mixture, followed by the pumpkin puree and vegetable oil.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice.
- Fold in chocolate chips if desired. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
