 - 1 teaspoon maple extract (optional)
 - ⅛ teaspoon red gel food color
 - ⅛ teaspoon orange gel food coloring
 
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
 - Cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and beat until well combined.
 - Stir in maple syrup, vanilla extract, and optional maple extract.
 - In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a dough forms.
 - Divide the dough and add red and orange food coloring to create autumn colors.
 - Roll out the dough and use leaf-shaped cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
 - Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are slightly golden. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
