- 3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. table salt
- 1 cup (8 oz.) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup whole buttermilk
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 tsp. white vinegar
- 2 tsp. to 2 Tbsp. red food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan with baking spray.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and oil until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and vinegar.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Finally, stir in the red food coloring to achieve the desired color.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
