  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. table salt
  • 1 cup (8 oz.) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup whole buttermilk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp. white vinegar
  • 2 tsp. to 2 Tbsp. red food coloring

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan with baking spray.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and oil until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and vinegar.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Finally, stir in the red food coloring to achieve the desired color.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
