Description
These iconic cookies are chewy, chocolatey, and nutty, just like the famous DoubleTree hotel treat. Bake them at home for a warm, comforting delight.
Ingredients
- ½ cup old fashioned oats
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 ⅔ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 ¾ cups chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together oats, flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in vanilla.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts evenly throughout the dough.
- Scoop dough into balls and place on prepared sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake 18–20 minutes until edges are golden brown but centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
Notes
Chill dough for 1 hour before baking for thicker cookies. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze baked cookies for 3 months.
