  • Author: Sarah White
  • Total Time: 2 hours 50 minutes (plus marinating time)
  • Yield: About 4 servings 1x

Description

Savory, smoky, and chewy homemade beef jerky made easily in the air fryer. A healthy, high-protein snack perfect for on-the-go energy.

Ingredients

Scale
  •  1 lb beef sirloin tip steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Place beef in the freezer for 30–45 minutes to firm, then slice thinly against the grain into strips.

  2. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, liquid smoke, and brown sugar.

  3. Add beef slices to the marinade, coat well, and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.

  4. Preheat the air fryer to 175°F (80°C). Pat beef slices dry with paper towels.

  5. Arrange strips in a single layer in the basket, ensuring no overlap.

  6. Air fry for 2–3 hours, flipping halfway, until beef is dry but slightly flexible.

  7. Cool completely on a wire rack before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

Store at room temperature for 1 week, in the fridge for 3 weeks, or freeze up to 3 months. Customize flavors with chili flakes, honey, or teriyaki sauce.
