Description
Crispy, golden Easy Air Fryer Fried Pickles with zesty dipping sauce — a quick, crunchy snack or appetizer everyone will love.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Pickles
- 1 cup sliced pickles
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Tabasco)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
For the Dip
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ cup minced onions (the finer, the better)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the dip. In a small bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, minced onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and dill. Mix well and refrigerate while preparing the pickles.
- Drain the pickles. Pat sliced pickles dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This ensures they become crispy rather than soggy.
- Make the batter. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Coat the pickles. Dip each pickle slice into the egg mixture, then coat evenly in panko breadcrumbs. Press lightly to help the crumbs adhere.
- Arrange in air fryer basket. Place the coated pickles in a single layer in the basket, making sure they don’t overlap. Lightly spray with cooking oil for extra crispness.
- Air fry. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crunchy.
- Serve. Transfer to a plate and serve warm with the creamy dipping sauce.
Notes
Always pat pickles dry before coating to avoid soggy texture.
Add a touch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika to the breadcrumb mix for a bolder kick.
For extra crunch, double-dip the pickles by coating them twice before air frying.
Serve immediately — fried pickles taste best fresh from the fryer.
