Easy Air Fryer Fried Pickles Recipe

  • Author: Sarah White

Description

Crispy, golden Easy Air Fryer Fried Pickles with zesty dipping sauce — a quick, crunchy snack or appetizer everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pickles

  • 1 cup sliced pickles
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Tabasco)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

For the Dip

  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup minced onions (the finer, the better)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dip. In a small bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, minced onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and dill. Mix well and refrigerate while preparing the pickles.
  2. Drain the pickles. Pat sliced pickles dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This ensures they become crispy rather than soggy.
  3. Make the batter. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Coat the pickles. Dip each pickle slice into the egg mixture, then coat evenly in panko breadcrumbs. Press lightly to help the crumbs adhere.
  5. Arrange in air fryer basket. Place the coated pickles in a single layer in the basket, making sure they don’t overlap. Lightly spray with cooking oil for extra crispness.
  6. Air fry. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crunchy.
  7. Serve. Transfer to a plate and serve warm with the creamy dipping sauce.

Notes

Always pat pickles dry before coating to avoid soggy texture.

Add a touch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika to the breadcrumb mix for a bolder kick.

For extra crunch, double-dip the pickles by coating them twice before air frying.

Serve immediately — fried pickles taste best fresh from the fryer.
