Description
A hearty, family-friendly casserole that combines ground beef, creamy soup, cheese, and crispy French fries. Comfort food made simple and delicious.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 (28 oz) bag frozen shoestring fries
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, diced (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, then drain excess fat.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup and mix well. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
- Arrange frozen fries evenly on top of the cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20–25 minutes until fries are golden and crispy.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley, ketchup, or burger sauce if desired.
Notes
 Best served hot with a side salad or roasted vegetables. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to keep fries crisp.
