Description

A hearty, family-friendly casserole that combines ground beef, creamy soup, cheese, and crispy French fries. Comfort food made simple and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef

  • 1 (28 oz) bag frozen shoestring fries

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 small onion, diced (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until softened.

  3. Add ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, then drain excess fat.

  4. Stir in cream of mushroom soup and mix well. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared dish.

  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.

  6. Arrange frozen fries evenly on top of the cheese.

  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 20–25 minutes until fries are golden and crispy.

  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley, ketchup, or burger sauce if desired.

Notes

Best served hot with a side salad or roasted vegetables. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to keep fries crisp.
