Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup chopped yellow onions
- 1 tablespoon hamburger seasoning
- 8 slices Texas toast
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for extra crispiness)
- Fresh parsley or pickles, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart as it browns. Add chopped onions and cook until softened, about 7–8 minutes. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in hamburger seasoning and mix well. Reduce heat to keep warm.
- Arrange Texas toast slices on a baking sheet. Broil for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Spoon beef mixture evenly over each slice of toast. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Return baking sheet to the oven and broil for 1–2 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley or pickles, if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, try topping with ketchup, mustard, or bacon bits. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
