Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • 4 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can vegetable broth
  • ½ pound chopped cooked chicken breast
  • 1 ½ cups egg noodles
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add onion and celery; cook and stir until tender.
  • Pour in chicken and vegetable broth.
  • Stir in chicken, noodles, carrots, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a splash of white wine or a dash of lemon juice.
