Description

A quick and comforting dessert made with buttery crust and sweet fruit filling. Perfect for weeknights or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter (½ cup)

  • 1 cup self-rising flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 can (1 lb 5 oz) pie filling of choice (peach, cherry, blueberry, or apple)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven.

  2. In a bowl, mix flour and sugar, then slowly whisk in the milk until smooth.

  3. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.

  4. Spoon the pie filling evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir.

  5. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
