  • Author: Sarah White
  • Total Time: 10–20 minutes
  • Yield: 8 stuffed pear halves (serves 4)
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Sweet ripe pears are filled with creamy blue cheese, crunchy walnuts, and honey drizzle for an elegant appetizer or light dessert. Perfect for entertaining.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, halved and cored

  • 1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled

  • 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted

  • 1 tablespoon honey, plus extra for drizzling

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the pears, then slice them in half lengthwise and carefully core them with a spoon.

  2. Toast walnuts in a dry skillet for 3–4 minutes until fragrant, then let cool.

  3. In a small bowl, combine crumbled blue cheese and walnuts, mixing well.

  4. Spoon the cheese mixture into the hollowed centers of the pears, filling generously.

  5. Drizzle each pear with honey just before serving. Optionally, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes for a warm version.

Notes

For best results, use firm but ripe pears such as Bosc or Anjou. Serve immediately to preserve freshness. Can be paired with salad, charcuterie, or enjoyed as a light dessert.
