- 2 Pink Lady apples (or Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon flaky sea salt (such as Maldon)
- 1 ½ tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Wash and dry apples thoroughly, then slice into ¼-inch thick rounds and remove any seeds.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar and water, heating over medium until dissolved. Bring to a boil without stirring.
- Cook syrup until it turns light amber and reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Quickly dip each apple slice into the syrup, letting excess drip off, then place on parchment.
- Immediately sprinkle with thyme leaves and a pinch of flaky sea salt.
- Allow slices to cool and harden completely before serving.
Notes
Best enjoyed the same day for crisp texture. Store up to 24 hours in an airtight container at room temperature. Avoid refrigeration.
