Description

Soft, vibrant green cookies with a heartwarming red candy in the center, perfect for Christmas celebrations. These fun, easy-to-make cookies are a must-try for holiday baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour (300g)
  • 2½ cups powdered sugar (300g)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cubed and softened (113g)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Green gel food coloring
  • ½ cup cornstarch (56g)
  • Red heart-shaped sprinkles or cinnamon candies

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch.
  • Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and vanilla extract. Add to the flour mixture and stir to combine.
  • Add green food coloring until the dough turns Grinch-green.
  • Roll dough into balls and place on the prepared baking sheet. Press a heart-shaped sprinkle in the center of each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.

Notes

Use a toothpick to help press down the heart sprinkles if they don’t stick easily. Adjust the green food coloring for desired vibrancy.
