  • 2 tbsp maple syrup, plus extra to serve
  • 22 cocktail onions
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, to serve

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Brush the bacon rashers with maple syrup, ensuring they are well-coated.
  • Lay out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into 11 long strips.
  • Wrap one bacon rasher around each strip of puff pastry in a spiral.
  • Skewer each strip with a cocktail onion at the top to resemble a Christmas tree.
  • Place the pastry-wrapped bacon onto the prepared tray, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  • Drizzle extra maple syrup over the trees and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
