Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef mince
  • 35g packet salt-reduced French onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
    Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) fan-forced. Line two baking trays with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Filling
    In a large bowl, combine the beef mince, French onion soup mix, tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Mix thoroughly with clean hands or a spatula until well combined.
  3. Prepare the Puff Pastry
    Lay out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a clean surface. Cut each sheet in half to make 6 rectangles.
  4. Assemble the Roll-Ups
    Spoon the beef mixture along one long edge of each pastry rectangle, shaping into a log. Roll up tightly, sealing the edge underneath.
  5. Make the Egg Wash
    In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create an egg wash.
  6. Brush and Cut
    Place the roll-ups seam-side down on the baking trays. Brush the tops with the egg wash. For smaller servings, cut each roll-up into thirds or leave whole for larger portions.
  7. Bake
    Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the beef is cooked through.
  8. Serve
    Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with dipping sauces like ketchup, barbecue, or mustard.

Notes

You can add grated cheese for extra richness.

Use low-fat beef mince for a leaner version.

Freeze pre-baked or unbaked for easy meal prep.
