Description
These French Onion Beef Roll-Ups combine savory beef mince with puff pastry and classic flavors — perfect for parties or comfort food.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 kg beef mince
- 35g packet salt-reduced French onion soup mix
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 3 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) fan-forced. Line two baking trays with parchment paper. - Make the Filling
In a large bowl, combine the beef mince, French onion soup mix, tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Mix thoroughly with clean hands or a spatula until well combined. - Prepare the Puff Pastry
Lay out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a clean surface. Cut each sheet in half to make 6 rectangles. - Assemble the Roll-Ups
Spoon the beef mixture along one long edge of each pastry rectangle, shaping into a log. Roll up tightly, sealing the edge underneath. - Make the Egg Wash
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create an egg wash. - Brush and Cut
Place the roll-ups seam-side down on the baking trays. Brush the tops with the egg wash. For smaller servings, cut each roll-up into thirds or leave whole for larger portions. - Bake
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the beef is cooked through. - Serve
Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with dipping sauces like ketchup, barbecue, or mustard.
