Crispy Garlic Parmesan French Fries — golden fries tossed in garlic butter, parsley, and melted parmesan perfection.


Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 23 tablespoons oil (olive or vegetable)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ tablespoon chopped parsley
  • ⅔ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Potatoes

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes (optional).
  2. Cut into even-sized fries, about ¼ inch thick for maximum crispiness.
  3. Soak fries in cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  4. Drain and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.

Step 2 – Season and Bake (or Air Fry)
5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
6. Toss fries in oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
7. Arrange in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in the air fryer basket.
8. Bake for 25–30 minutes (flip halfway) or air fry for 15–18 minutes until golden and crisp.

Step 3 – Make the Garlic Parmesan Topping
9. In a small skillet, melt butter or warm 1 tablespoon of oil.
10. Add minced garlic and sauté gently for 30–60 seconds until fragrant (don’t brown).
11. Stir in parsley and remove from heat.

Step 4 – Toss and Serve
12. Transfer hot fries to a large mixing bowl.
13. Drizzle garlic mixture over fries, tossing to coat evenly.
14. Add shredded Parmesan cheese and toss again until the fries are coated with cheesy goodness.

Step 5 – Enjoy
15. Serve immediately with ketchup, aioli, or ranch dressing. For an extra kick, sprinkle with a pinch of chili flakes or truffle salt.

Notes

Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes are ideal for this recipe.

If air frying, shake the basket halfway through for even cooking.

Serve fries immediately after tossing — the cheese clings best while hot.
