Description
A hearty and comforting casserole made with seasoned ground beef, pasta or potatoes, creamy sauce, and melted cheese. Perfect for family dinners or potlucks.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ to 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups cooked pasta or parboiled potato slices
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup frozen peas or green beans (optional)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers (optional topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, then drain excess fat.
- Add onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika; cook 3–4 minutes until onions soften.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and optional vegetables; simmer 2–3 minutes.
- Layer cooked pasta or potatoes in the baking dish, then spread beef mixture evenly on top.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole and add breadcrumbs if desired.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
 For extra flavor, mix cheddar with mozzarella. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Serve with salad or garlic bread.
