Description

Easy and fun Halloween Popcorn Balls with caramel, candy, and sprinkles. A festive treat perfect for spooky season parties!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 cups popped popcorn (plain, unsalted)
  • 11 ounces caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 25 marshmallows (standard size)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 ounces Reese’s Pieces
  • 6 ounces green melting chocolate
  • 3 ounces purple melting chocolate
  • Halloween sprinkles
  • Edible eyeballs
  • Popsicle sticks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the popcorn: Pop your popcorn and transfer 7 cups into a large mixing bowl. Remove any unpopped kernels.
  2. Melt the caramel base: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and caramel candies, stirring constantly until smooth and fully combined. Stir in the cinnamon.
  3. Coat the popcorn: Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn. Use a spatula or greased hands to mix until the popcorn is evenly coated.
  4. Add candies: Gently fold in the Reese’s Pieces while the mixture is still warm, but not hot enough to melt the candy coating.
  5. Form into balls: Lightly grease your hands with butter or oil and form the mixture into tennis ball-sized rounds. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Insert sticks: While still warm and pliable, insert a popsicle stick into the center of each ball if desired.
  7. Decorate: Melt the green and purple chocolate according to package instructions. Drizzle over each popcorn ball. Immediately add Halloween sprinkles and edible eyeballs.
  8. Cool and set: Allow the popcorn balls to cool completely until firm. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

Be careful with the hot caramel mixture—use a nonstick spatula and work quickly.

If the mixture becomes too hard to shape, microwave it for 10 seconds to soften.

For an extra gooey texture, add more marshmallows.
