- 4 (3-pound) whole chickens
- 16 carrots, halved
- 16 stalks celery, halved
- 4 large onions, halved
- Water to cover
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chickens in a large pot and cover with water.
- Add carrots, celery, and onions, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 1-2 hours, skimming off any impurities.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot and shred the meat.
- Return shredded chicken to the pot, add salt, pepper, and chicken bouillon (if using).
- Continue simmering for an additional 30 minutes to meld the flavors.
Notes
- You can use chicken breasts or thighs instead of whole chickens.
- Adjust the seasoning to taste and add more water if needed.
