Description

These Sausage-Stuffed Mushrooms are a savory, bite-sized appetizer perfect for any gathering. Juicy mushrooms are filled with a spicy Italian sausage mixture, topped with Parmesan cheese, and baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 large mushrooms, stems removed, or more as needed
  • 1 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 ounces grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • ¼ cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Add diced onion to the sausage and cook until softened.
  • Stir in half of the Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, garlic, and parsley. Mix well.
  • Spoon the sausage mixture into the mushroom caps, pressing gently.
  • Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden.

Notes

  • For a milder flavor, use sweet Italian sausage instead of hot.
