Italian Quesadillas

  • Author: Sarah White

Description

Delicious Italian Quesadillas with cheesy beef, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella—perfect for quick dinners or tasty snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • lb ground beef

  • 1 (24-oz) jar marinara sauce

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 6 burrito-size flour tortillas

  • 1 (8-oz) package shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula. Drain excess fat.

  • Add garlic powder and the entire jar of marinara sauce to the skillet. Stir well and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes to let flavors meld.

  • Preheat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat.

  • Place one tortilla flat on the skillet. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese evenly over half of the tortilla.

  • Spoon a generous amount of the beef and marinara mixture over the cheese.

  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top of the beef.

  • Fold the tortilla over to cover the filling and press gently with a spatula.

  • Cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese has melted.

  • Remove from skillet and let rest for a minute before slicing into wedges.

  • Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.

Notes

Use burrito-sized tortillas for easier folding and filling capacity.

Simmering the beef in marinara allows it to soak up Italian flavors.

Adjust the amount of cheese depending on your preference for cheesiness.

Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
