Description
Try these Jalapeno Popper Burgers with spicy jalapenos, cream cheese, bacon, and cheddar for a bold, cheesy, flavorful burger experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lean ground beef (93/7 blend)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 1 clove garlic, peeled
- 4 hamburger buns
- Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 jalapeno, sliced (seeds removed if desired)
- 4 slices center-cut bacon, cooked crispy
Instructions
- Preheat grill or skillet: Heat your grill to medium-high or preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Prepare cream cheese filling: In a small bowl, mash the cream cheese with Greek yogurt or sour cream. Add garlic and mix until smooth.
- Form patties: Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions. Flatten each into a patty and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Add filling: Spoon a small amount of cream cheese mixture onto each patty, then top with a few slices of jalapeno. Cover with another patty and pinch edges to seal, forming stuffed burgers.
- Cook burgers: Grill or pan-sear patties 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness. During the last minute, add cheddar cheese on top to melt.
- Assemble burgers: Toast buns lightly. Place burger patties on buns, top with crispy bacon slices, and serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure the edges are sealed tightly to prevent the cream cheese filling from leaking during cooking.
Adjust jalapeno heat to taste—remove seeds for milder burgers or leave seeds for more spice.
Use a thermometer to ensure burgers are cooked to safe internal temperature (160°F for beef).
For extra flavor, brush patties with a little olive oil before cooking.
