- 1 box brownie mix (9×13 size), prepared and baked as directed
- 5 cups sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil or butter (optional, for smoother chocolate topping)
Instructions
- Prepare and bake the brownie mix in a 9×13 pan according to package directions. Let cool completely.
- In a bowl, mix shredded coconut and sweetened condensed milk until thick and sticky. Spread evenly over cooled brownies.
- Melt chocolate chips (with coconut oil or butter if using) in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth. Spread evenly over the coconut layer.
- Refrigerate 1–2 hours, or until chocolate is set. Slice into squares and serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
For clean cuts, use a warm knife wiped between slices. Store brownies covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 2 months.
