- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons Dijon or whole-grain mustard
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- 4 slices cheese (optional, such as Swiss or cheddar)
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomato
- Sliced onion
- Pickles or sauerkraut (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground chicken with salt and black pepper until combined. Shape into 4 equal patties.
- Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface.
- Whisk together maple syrup and mustard to make the glaze.
- Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side, brushing with the glaze during the final minutes of cooking until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Toast buns lightly, then assemble burgers with patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and any extra toppings. Serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, add smoked paprika to the chicken or a dash of hot sauce to the glaze. Store cooked patties in the fridge up to 3 days or freeze up to 2 months.
