Description
A quick and creamy one pot pasta with smoky kielbasa, tender pasta, and savory garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 lb smoked kielbasa or turkey/chicken sausage, sliced 1/4 inch thick
-
1 medium onion, diced
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 cups chicken broth
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
8 oz pasta (penne, rigatoni, or farfalle)
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
Red pepper flakes, optional
-
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned, about 4–5 minutes.
-
Remove the sausage and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent, about 3–4 minutes, then add garlic and cook 1–2 more minutes.
-
Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, and bring to a simmer.
-
Add uncooked pasta to the skillet, cover, and cook 10–12 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
-
Return kielbasa to the skillet, stir in Parmesan cheese, and cook until the sauce is creamy and well combined.
-
Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
Add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently with a splash of broth or cream.
