Description
A hearty one-pot pasta loaded with tender steak, smoky BBQ flavor, and a touch of honey sweetness. Perfect for cozy weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
-
1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, thinly sliced
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
1 medium onion, diced
-
3 garlic cloves, minced
-
2 cups smoky BBQ sauce
-
2 tbsp honey
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/2 tsp black pepper
-
4 cups beef broth
-
12 oz penne or rotini pasta
-
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
-
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add sliced steak and sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
-
Add onions and garlic to the pot, cooking for 3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
-
Stir in BBQ sauce, honey, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in beef broth and mix well.
-
Add pasta to the pot, ensuring it’s submerged. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
-
Return steak to the pot, then sprinkle in cheese. Stir until melted and creamy.
-
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or chipotle peppers. Leftovers keep in the fridge up to 3 days—reheat with a splash of broth. Pairs perfectly with garlic bread or a crisp green salad.
