Description
This creamy one-pot spicy garlic butter chicken tortellini is rich, bold, and fast—perfect for busy nights or comfort cravings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups fresh cheese tortellini (or ravioli)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh basil or parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Sear the chicken.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden.
2. Add garlic and red pepper.
Stir in garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. Sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
3. Add broth and tortellini.
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add tortellini and cook until tender, stirring occasionally.
4. Add cream and butter.
Lower heat and stir in heavy cream and remaining butter until sauce thickens slightly.
5. Melt in Parmesan.
Add Parmesan cheese, stirring until incorporated into a creamy sauce.
6. Finish with herbs.
Stir in basil or parsley, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.
Notes
For extra creaminess, add more Parmesan or a splash of cream cheese.
For less spice, reduce crushed red pepper or omit it at first.
Chicken thighs remain juicier than breasts during longer simmering.
