Description
Warm, comforting Overnight Crock Pot Apple Pie Oatmeal with apples, spices, and milk—perfect easy breakfast for busy mornings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 Honeycrisp apples, cored, peeled, and cubed
- 1 cup steel-cut oats
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
- 3 cups 2% milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Apples:
Peel, core, and cube the Honeycrisp apples. Make sure the pieces are small and even to ensure tender results after slow cooking. - Add Ingredients to the Crock Pot:
Lightly coat the crock pot with a non-stick spray or a thin layer of butter to prevent sticking. Add the apples, steel-cut oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. - Pour in the Milk:
Add the 2% milk to the slow cooker, stirring the mixture gently to evenly distribute the ingredients. - Set the Slow Cooker:
Cover and cook the oatmeal on LOW for 6–8 hours, allowing the flavors to meld overnight. - Stir Before Serving:
In the morning, stir the oatmeal well to combine the softened apples and the oats into a creamy mixture. - Adjust Consistency:
If the oatmeal is too thick, stir in an additional splash of milk. - Serve Warm:
Scoop into bowls and top with extra cinnamon, nuts, raisins, or a drizzle of maple syrup if desired.
Notes
Non-stick spray is essential—steel-cut oats can stick.
Add more sugar or substitute maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter version.
Any firm apple variety works, but Honeycrisp provides great texture and natural sweetness.
If you prefer thicker oatmeal, use 2 ½ cups milk instead of 3.
