- 4 cups warm water (100°F/40°C)
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- 4 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
- 20 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 cups white sugar
- 8 teaspoons salt
- 8 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups butter, melted
- 4 (8-ounce) packages sliced pepperoni
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add eggs, melted butter, and yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Knead until dough is smooth, about 8 minutes.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll dough into rectangles, placing pepperoni slices in the center of each.
- Roll up each piece and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For a cheesy version, add mozzarella to the filling.
