Description

A hearty casserole that combines juicy ground beef, crispy golden fries, and melted cheese for the ultimate comfort food. Perfect for weeknights or casual gatherings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 bag (24 oz) frozen shoestring French fries
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing the dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned, draining excess grease.
  3. Stir in onion (if using), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes to blend flavors.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the beef layer.
  6. Arrange frozen French fries evenly on top, covering the beef completely.
  7. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the fries.
  8. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until fries are golden and cheese is melted.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with ketchup, mustard, or pickles if desired.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the top for 2–3 minutes before serving. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven. Add toppings like bacon, jalapeños, or barbecue sauce for variety.
