Description
A quick and delicious stir-fry dish made with tender beef, colorful bell peppers, and a savory soy sauce-based sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.

- 1 pound beef top sirloin steak
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1 red onion, cut into 1-inch squares
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch squares
- 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Slice the beef into thin strips.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and ground ginger.
- Marinate beef in the mixture for 20 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned. Remove from skillet.
- Add remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry onion and bell pepper until tender.
- Return beef to the skillet. Add tomatoes and cook until heated through.
- Serve hot with rice or noodles.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add crushed red pepper flakes.
- Substitute beef with chicken or tofu for variation.
